Lho La 6026m is a pioneer high altitude trek, lies in the upperKhumbu region, right on the border of the Tibet and Nepal on elevation of 6026m. The normal route of trek is beginning from the Everest Base camp through the ice and moraine glacier. The normal route of the climbing is west face of the ridge, which is considered as the general technical due to the rock and icefalls. The route towards the starting point to the steep rocks and mixed gully’s of ice and snow. There will be some turning points on the route because of crevasses, slope mixed ice and rock walls, which makes long distance of the climbing period as well. The climbing trail, route and camp will be fixed by local Sherpa and guides as it required in main time.According to our scheduled itinerary the expedition starts from Kathmandu – Lukla flight; and approximately 8 days trekking by foot to Lho La Base camp; then via the same route on their way back to Kathmandu . The Base camp of Lho La located very close from Mt. Everest B.C.To trek up to the Lho La, The expedition team should get a special permit for Khumbutse Peak ( Lho La is the rout of Khumbuste East-west climbing ridge) from the ministry of Tourism and civil Aviation.
Glimpse of Itinerary:
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02 Rest day at Kathmandu
Free and briefing at the Ministry of tourism from the government officials with liaison officer.
Day 03 Kathmandu to Lukla (2,830 m.) to Phakding (2,652 m.): Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and camp at Phakding (2,652 m.) approximately 3 hrs walking distance. The trail tops a small ridge and from where the trail descends to Suikhet (2,340 m.) and passes blows Lukla to Chauri Kharka. The fields that pass through support corps of Corn, potatoes, wheat and cabbage and the Sherpas here are generally better off than their friends above Namche.
Day 04 Phakding to Namche (3,446 m.): Approximately 5 hrs. walking which is a beautiful day walking through magnificent Rhododendron, Magnolia and Fir forest. Several villages provide welcome teashops and views of the peaks increase and improve until finally reach Namche after a long pull up of a ridge. Namche is the main Sherpa village and have to rest on the afternoon to enjoy walking round the village.
Day 05 Rest at Namche Bazaar: This is rest day for acclimatization.
Day 06 Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche (3867 m.): After breakfast, trek will lead to Phunki Tenga for Lunch. After lunch ascend another 2-hrs. and reach at Thyangboche and pay a visit to Monastery with the Sherpa Guide.
Day 07 Thyngboche to Dingboche (4,252 m.): This walking day through Pangboche village where what is claimed to be Yeti’s scalp and the fingers of hand, kept in the Pangboche monastery can be seen with the Sherpa guide.
Day 08 Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930 m.): Already first part of the day climb a small ridge con tour to Thukla (4,600 m.) before climb the moraines of Lobuche with the best view of high mountain including Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha)
Day 09 Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m.) Meeting with climbing guides and briefing about expedition.
Day 10 Goraksep to Lho La B.C. (5,245m.): Lho la Base Camp is located close to the EBC, which is situated at the elevation of 5,252 meters. The Trekkers feel very happy to reach as it makes them a life time memories for their adventurous fulfillment.
Day 11 Lho La B.C. The climbers/Sherpas arrange puja (worship) at B.C. to allow on the mountain, for fear of angering the gods. During the Puja, the climbers and Sherpas pray to the gods for their permission to climb Lho La and for a blessing for a safe and successful expedition. A small temple, known as a chorten, constructed from rocks, is where the whole expedition team stand around for the ceremony. During the Puja, climbers and Sherpas place their ice axes, crampons, and other items against the chorten to be blessed. The guides will brief you about the topography of the fixed route and help you to prepare the final expedition.
Day 12 Lho La B.C to Lho La (6026m.) This is main ascending day of the expedition. Trek begins though moraine and icefalls to reach the cliff of the rock wall which is the first ascending part. This ascent is a bit hard and technical due to the rock and Ice slopes. After heading towards the trail you reach at an elevation of 6026m., where you will meet the camp of Lho La (final destinaon of the Expedition).
Day 13 Lho La: Explore around and capture the panoramic views of the snow capped mountains and glacier.
Day 14 Lho La to Base Camp: Descend to Lho La B.C. via same route.
Day 15 Base Campa to Lobuche
Day 16 Lobuche to Pangboche
Day 17 Pagboche to Khumjung
Day 18 Khumjung to Jersale
Day 19 Jorsale to lukla
Day 20 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 21 Rest day at Kathmandu
