This 3 night visit to Bhutan is intended as an add-on to a holiday in Nepal, giving an insight into the heritage and way of life of this unspoiled mountain Kingdom. Focusing on the Paro and Thimphu Valleys, you will visit ancient fortresses, Buddhist shrines and monasteries. Outline Itinerary :
Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Paro, in Bhutan. In clear weather, enjoy wonderful views of the Paro Valley, backed by snow-capped mountains, as you come in to land. Transfer to the hotel and evening visit to Paro’s market.
Day 2: Exploring Paro with visits to the Dzong, temples and museum. Transfer to Thimphu.
Day 3: Spend the day visiting the cultural highlights of this fascinating town – the National Library,Traditional Medicine Institute and Painting School, where monks learn the intricate art of Thankha painting. Look around the incredible Tashichodzong, the ‘Fortress of the Glorious Dharma’ and shop for Bhutan’s famous handicrafts – masks, paintings, textiles and jewelry.
Day 4: Return flight to Kathmandu.
