Conyoning activities consists of trekking/hiking and walking up the head of the conyon and abseiling down the conyon with help of the rope along the spring, torrent and stream stepping across the blocks, sliding,diving,into pol,swmming and using euuipment such as: Harness,Jummer ,carabineer, figure 8 Etc;

Canyoneers wear special wet thermo suit, shoes, helmet etc;

Conyoing in both: Asport and an adventure depending on the state of mind of people involved in the activity. New conyon exploration is an adventure whereas a guides desent can be terned as a sport and pleasure/happiness trip. Canyoning very popular all over European countries: Italy , Spain , Switzerland ,Autria,Frence.

In America canyoning is well developed in the USA and Mexico , Cuba , Brazil ,Chilli as well.

Potential canyoing in Nepal :

Canyoning can be as attractive as Rafting, Trekking/hiking, mountaineering in Nepal given the abundance of right natural endowments we have.

This fun/unique sport can be packaged as one of the major components. consisting of Trekking/hiking, rock climbing, rafting Etc:

Nepal can become the leading destination country for canyoning in the region if we are able to develop and promote it in a right way.

27 canyons have been descended and 15 observed which includes Sunkoshi Valle-10

Upper kali Gandaki ( mirsiti khola ), Bhotekoshi Valley-5 Pokhara valley -5 mashyangdi Valley-20 of different levels/grades1-V there are possibility of more in thousands for developing conyoning sites in different parts of Natural beauty Nepal from mid hilly region to the lower part of the beautiful hilly/ Himalayan area.
