Not everyone who visits Nepal wants to trek the whole time. Though the mountains are undoubtedly what Nepal is most famous for, there is much more to see and do in this fascinating Himalayan kingdom. On this exciting holiday, we spend time in Kathmandu and the Valley, exploring fabulous temples and historic sites, including Bhaktapur, its narrow streets lined with exquisite woodcarvings. We take a wonderful scenic flight to see Everest and other Himalayan giants from the air. Then, travelling by road to Pokhara, you'll have a day to relax in this delightful town on the shores of Lake Phewa, before setting off on a four day trek among the foothills of the stunning Annapurna region. As you walk among the terraced farmlands, villages and forests, you should enjoy fantastic views of the distant snow-capped peaks, if the weather is clear.

At the end of the trek, you'll have a half day of white-water rafting before the visit to Chitwan National Park, where three nights are spent at a comfortable lodge. One of Asia's best known wildlife sanctuaries, Chitwan is home to many colourful birds, monkeys, deer, crocodiles and the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. It is also a last stronghold for a small population of Bengal tigers - occasionally spotted by lucky visitors.

This holiday offers excellent value for money and is a great way to experience the country without undertaking a full length trek.

Experience & Fitness : the trek is graded easy, but you do need to enjoy walking and be comfortable with some uphill and downhill sections. During the trek you'll be tent-based, but all you carry is a day pack - the rest of the luggage and equipment is carried from camp to camp by porters, as with all our other treks.
