Korchen is a rounded ridge summit lying to the south of Machapuchare, one of Nepal's most beautiful and most photographed mountains. Though lower in height, Machapuchare, its fish tail shape pointing skyward, appears to dwarf the mighty Annapurnas, which are ranged to the west and east. The panorama of these awesome peaks, viewed from Korchen's summit in the pale light of dawn or bathed in evening sun, is a sight that few will forget.
On this short but incredibly scenic trek, we follow the ridge route to Korchen. Tantalising glimpses of the peaks ahead are an incentive to keep going on the steady climb through farmland and forest. Emerging above the tree line, we camp two nights at Korchen, which allows for a full day of exploration further up the ridge for those who want the greater challenge of reaching 4000 metres and even more incredible views. After trekking back down the ridge we descend to the valley, which is deeply scarred by several spectacular gorges. Walking to the trailhead, we pass Buddhist Gurung villages, set among rice paddies and cornfields.

Fitness & Experience : This is a short trek but with some steep sections of ascent and descent, though on graded trails. It is aimed at regular fit walkers but previous trekking experience is not necessary.

Outline Itinerary :
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu - transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour of historic Kathmandu and its temples.
Day 3: Morning flight to Kathmandu-Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4-10: Trekking up the Korchen Ridge with fantastic views of the Annapurnas and Machapuchare.
Day 11: Free to explore Pokhara
Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 13: Free in Kathmandu.
Day 14: Departure to onward place.
